The “fang-infested follow-up to 2008’s Suck It Up,” in which young adults were introduced to vegan vampire Morning McCobb, who drinks a soy-blood substitute called Blood Lite and who believes staking should be a hate crime, picks up nearly one year after American Out Day — the day on which the Leaguer vampires of America began going mainstream.

The tension between Morning McCobb’s wish for a simple life, and the obsession of a 16-year old filmmaker named Portia, escalates to the breaking point when a super-sinister vampire rises from the grave.

Brian Meehl’s comedic “vampire lite” story is unlike any vampire tale ever told. He lives in Redding, and will be visiting Byrd’s Books for a discussion combined with pizza party.

Registration is required; call 203-730-2973 or send email to events@ByrdsBooks.com. Byrd’s Books is at 213 Greenwood Avenue, on the second floor (above Molten Java).
