*THE DOUG WAHLBERG BAND has a pair of back-to-back shows in a new venue this weekend. Doug and crew will be at Blu Parrot in Westport, a recently opened nightclub in Westport opened by Adam Lubarsky (who started The Georgetown Saloon years ago), on Friday and Saturday night. The club is at 60 Charles Street; call 203-557-9148 or visit TheBluParrot.com for additional information.

Beyond that the next two public shows by the blues and rock band will be Sunday, November 11, at Trinity on Main in New Britain (an early show, this one is set for 5 pm; visit TrinityOnMain.org for details), and then the band will be part of “A Night of Music,” a fundraiser for pancreatic cancer research taking place Saturday, November 17, at The Quick Center at Fairfield University (QuickCenter.com).

*THE ALTERNATE ROUTES, the Bridgeport-based band created by Fairfield University alums Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly, will headline a concert next weekend at The Quick Center for the Arts as part of Fairfield University’s Alumni & Family Weekend. Ari Hest has an opening set for the Friday, October 19 concert, which will begin at 8 pm.
