St Rose Walkathon Next Sunday

St Rose of Lima’s annual 5K Run Walkathon is set for Sunday, October 21, from 1 pm to 4 pm at Fairfield Hills.

St Rose students, parents, faculty, and friends of the school are invited to take part in the 22nd Annual Walkathon for Catholic Schools. Participants will walk three miles and will collect donations for their participation.

This year the school’s goal is to raise $25,000 to put toward renovating its playground and recreation area.

All ages will be welcome at the event, and it will be held rain or shine.

Registration for both people who plan to walk and for people planning to participate in the 5K run will begin at 12:30 pm. The registration fee will be $25 for the 5K on the day of the event, but people can also prepay and register online for $20 before the event. The walk is set to begin at 1:45 pm. There is no fee to walk in the event, but participants are encouraged to find sponsors or pledges.

A Harvest Hunt for children is also planned for the day.

According to the 5K race’s description online, the first 25 people to register will receive a free T-shirt, and the T-shirts are also for sale by preorder online for $15. A $100 prize is also set to go to the first male and the first female who finishes the race, and a $50 is set to go the first male and female under the age of 13 to finish the race. The 5K run is set to start at 1:30 pm.
