To the Editor:
As a coach at Newtown High School, I may be slightly biased, but this is neither my sport nor my season, but for anyone who was at the Newtown football cancer awareness game on Friday night, you will have to agree. The display of athleticism and artistry put on by our school was amazing and something to be proud of.
The football team crushed Brookfield, the cheerleaders were so impressive, the dance team was fabulous, and the band and color guard were amazing. For those of you who donât have children at the high school, it is a great place with so much to offer our kids.
This night was a testament to all that Newtown High School has to offer. What you also may not know is how much time these kids dedicate to community service. Bravo to all of our athletes, coaches, Athletic Director Gregg Simon, and members of the color guard and band. Iâm going to say it â it is nice to live in Newtown!
