A Huge Success

To the Editor:

On behalf of SHOP, I would like to thank everyone who participated in and attended the second annual Passport to Sandy Hook last weekend.

This year over 800 people attended, and the number of passports tripled from last year.

We would like to especially thank Newtown Savings Bank for sponsoring the live i95 radio broadcast, and Andy Sachs Deals Around Town for sponsoring our Queen Street banner.

We would also like to thank Chief Bill Halstead and the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company for supporting yet another community event. Thanks to the Newtown Highway Department for beautifying the construction areas for the event. Thanks to the Newtown PD for bringing Baro to the event. Thanks to Pediatric Heart Specialists and Haas Insurance for sponsoring the Bounce House at 107 Church Hill.

Thanks to our musicians, John Voket and the Bobby Donaldson Band, who donated their talents to the event. Thanks to the Grateful Planet for the flash mob dance. Thanks to all of our 27 participating merchants who opened their doors to welcome everyone to Sandy Hook, and for all the great raffle prizes!
