Herring Earns Volleyball Honors

Holy Family University freshman Emma Herring, a 2012 Newtown High School graduate has been honored as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player and Rookie of the Week, for the period ending October 7.

The 5-foot-11 outside hitter hit .394 (37-9-71) over three matches last week. Herring notched a career-best 14 kills at Chestnut Hill while hitting .480 overall and adding three blocks and five service aces. She posted a career-high nine service aces at Bloomfield and added 14 kills and a .440 hitting percentage. Herring leads the CACC with 42 service aces thus far this season.

Herring helped Newtown to back-to-back conference titles and a state crown.
