Become A Certified Soccer Referee
Become A Certified Soccer Referee
To be a referee for recreational, travel, and premier soccer games in Newtown, you must be certified.
To certify you must be at least 13 years of age by June 30, 2013 and you must take an online course administered by the Connecticut State Referee Program (CSRP).Â
CSRP offers an entry-level online training course and a one-day onsite field training/test session. The online course is available at www.ctreferee.net until December 15.Â
A referee candidate should plan on several hours over several days to complete the online material. Once the course material is completed online, the referee candidate must attend a clinic, which will include a field session and the final test. The last clinic and test date is December 29, 2012 in Farmington.Â
If you want to referee in 2013 you must take this course now because it is only offered once a year. Set your own hours, make good money, and be an important part of the game.
There are detailed instructions at www.ctreferee.net. Questions may be directed to travel-referee-coordinator@newtownsoccerclub.org or rec-referee-coordinator@newtownsoccerclub.org.
