Adopt From The Pound

The following cat and dogs are among those available for adoption from the Newtown pound:

BELLA is a beautiful white and grey female cat. She is spayed and weighs 5 or 6 pounds. Her right eye is blue and her left is an amber color which only serves to enhance her beauty. She is about 1 1/2 years old and full of curiosity. Bella is a little shy at first but warms up to you soon enough and then showers you with attention and dazzles you with her feline skills. With her soft coat, captivating eyes, and gentle demeanor, Bella will have no difficulty in adopting and charming a new human family. The only reason she is looking for a home is that her previous owner already has an older cat who would not accept Bella.

CHI CHI is a male, neutered Pomeranian / Chihuahua hybrid. This qualifies Chi Chi as a Pomchi, a newly recognized “designer dog” rapidly gaining in popularity. He weighs about 8 pounds, is about 1 1/2 years old, and is a bundle of energy (he could have descended from Speedy Gonzales). Chi Chi is housebroken and will warm up to you almost immediately. He will be good with children and other dogs. He was signed over to the shelter by a very nice elderly man who just couldn’t keep up with the boundless energy. But, if you think that you can keep up with this guy then this is the dog for you. He’ll reward you with devotion, longevity, and antics that will constantly amuse you. He does have a bare patch on his neck where he was shaved to relieve a skin irritation from a collar. His fur will grow back in short order.

SUZIE is a spayed female shepherd/hound mix. She has a lovely brindle coat with some white on her neck and chest as well as the tips of all four paws. She is probably about 4 or 5 years old and weighs 15 to 20 pounds. Suzie is gentle and quite playful. She was found roaming the streets and then brought to the shelter for care and placement with some lucky family. She should do well with children. Give this sweet little girl a chance and she could provide you and your family with years of companionship and devotion. It is often said that rescued dogs bond very well with their adopted humans and officials think that Suzie will carry out this tradition quite well.

MISTY is a spayed female mixed breed weighing about 40-45 pounds. She is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old with a white and black coat. She is a very shy dog and almost seems to be afraid of people. But, with patience and consistency, she will learn to trust and respond to your wishes. She was found abandoned last year during that fall snowstorm which may have something to do with her anxiety. This means that she has been with the shelter for nearly a year. Misty has far too much potential to remain forever at the shelter. Though she does receive love and attention there, she deserves an opportunity to be in a family environment where she can bask in your care.
