White Sox 13, Tigers 2: The White Sox brought their A game on both sides of the ball. The offense amassed 10 hits, led by Robbie Morrill who was 2-for-2 with 4 RBI, Robert Murray, 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored, Tyler Fuori 2-for-2 with 2 RBI, and George Mohigel with a single and RBI. The defense was led by the solid pitching of Ryan Burns, James Tibolla, Tyler Trede, and Tyler Fuori. The group yielded just three singles and six total base runners. Tyler Trede turned in an unassisted double play to set the tone in the first inning, and James Tibola recorded two unassisted put outs while pitching a scoreless second inning. For the Tigers Charlie Asetta had a hard-hit RBI single in the fifth and Trevor Tyrrell a hard single in the sixth. Tyrrell also had a solid game behind the plate, highlighted by an inning ending 2-2-3 double play to get out of a bases loaded jam in the third inning.
Aâs 11, White Sox 8: The White Sox and Aâs tangled in a see-saw battle. The Aâs took a 5-1 lead after three innings, but the White Sox answered right back, regaining the lead 7-5 after three and half innings. The Aâs scored two in their half of the fourth to knot the game at 7-7. After the White Sox were retired 1-2-3 in the fifth the Aâs got aggressive on the base paths, scored three runs on passed balls and taking a commanding 11-7 lead heading into the last inning. The White Sox managed to score one in the final inning and bring up the tying run to the plate before being shut down. For the White Sox Ryan Burns was 2-for-3 with four runs scored. James Tibola had a single and RBI, and Tyler Trede a single and 2 RBI. For the Aâs, Jack Ketchum was 2-for-2, with an RBI and two runs scored. James Heran was 2-for-3 including a long 3 RBI double in the first inning. Kyle Nicholson was 2-for-3 while Jacob Goldstein reached base all three times and scored two runs.
Aâs 15, Orioles 8: The Aâs pulled out a win against the Orioles on Saturday, with strong pitching performances from Ben Terry, Ryan Farrell, Kyle Nicholson, and James Heran. The offense was led by Jack Ketchum, Luke Azzarito, Ben Terry, James Heran, and Jacob Goldstien who scored two runs each. Defense was led by Ryan Farrell with a sensational put out from third, and Dominic Scalzo, Matt Brandt, Ben Grenier, and Bryan Bailey who each also supplied a run.
Aâs 11, White Sox 7: The Aâs eeked out a tough win against the White Sox on Sunday. James Heran, Kyle Nicholson, Luke Azzarito, and Jack Ketchum, held off the potent Sox attack while the Jack Ketchum, Dominick Scalzo, and Jacob Goldstein led the scoring with 2 runs apiece. Matt Brant handled the pitching staff with 4 strong innings behind the plate and scored one run. Defense was supported by solid performances from Bryan Bailey and Ben Grenier.
