On Affiliations

To the Editor:

In this week’s Bee, John Torok Jr was “seriously taken aback” by Po Murray’s request that those who write in favor of the Herb Rosenthal attribute their affiliation with the first selectman [Letter Hive, October 5, “The Independent One-Way Street”]. Mr Torok also mentioned that writers for the Independent Party should attribute their party affiliation as well. Personally, I do not recall any letters written by the Independent Party where they did not mention their affiliation with pride, given their plan to free Newtown from the stranglehold of Herb Rosenthal and his current administration

Oh, by the way, some of you voters may not know who Mr Torok is, since he chose to not identify himself. Mr Torok is currently a Democrat on the Board of Finance. Of the only two finance meetings listed on the town website, July, 26, 2007 and September 10, 2007, Mr Torok was absent.

Also, for those of you that may not have guessed, I am not, nor have I ever been, affiliated with Mr Rosenthal or any of his supporters. I am an independent (small “i”) with no party affiliation.
