Meals On Wheels Drivers Needed
Meals On Wheels Drivers Needed
Meals on Wheels can use some help. The group is looking for some new volunteer drivers.
Volunteers commit to delivering meals once a month, using their own vehicle. Routes typically have between one and six stops.
Meals on Wheels (MOW) is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that was formed 30 years ago in Newtown to deliver meals to persons who are housebound, including elderly persons who live alone and younger persons who are temporarily incapacitated.
MOW receives suggestions for its meal deliveries from doctorsâ offices, local health care facilities, Newtown Social Services, family members, and from recipients themselves. An interview process is conducted.
For additional information or to volunteer contact Colleen Honan, MOW driver coordinator, at 426-0714.
