Failure To Respond

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Dakotah Lajoie, 21, of 168 Huntingtown Road turned himself in at the police station on the afternoon of October 9, and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, police report.

That charge stems from Lajoie’s not responding to an infraction ticket that he received in April for a case of simple trespassing on railroad tracks near Hanover Road, police said.

Lajoie posted $100 bail and was released for an October 23 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Three Vehicles

Police report a three-vehicle accident on southbound South Main Street, at its intersection with Prospect Drive, about 7:30 am October 2.

Police said southbound motorist Debra Aubin, 51, of Seymour, who was driving a 2005 Ford Escape, stopped in order to make a left turn onto Prospect Drive, after which southbound motorist Patrick Scheer, 62, of Southbury, who was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima, slowed down behind the Escape.

Southbound motorist Craig Carlson, 44, of Bethel, who was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus, then struck the rear end of the Nissan causing the Nissan to veer off to the side, police said.

The Taurus then struck the rear end of the Escape, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Carlson a written warning for following too closely.

Slippery Road

Police report a two-vehicle accident in wet conditions on a hazardous section of Castle Hill Road, near King Street, where collisions often occur in inclement weather.

About 7:20 am October 3, motorist Robert O’Connor, 44, of New York City was driving a Mercedes-Benz 380-SL coupe downhill and eastward on Castle Hill Road and was approaching a sharp curve, police said.

At that time, motorist Bruce Fenn, 59, of Southbury was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck uphill and westward on that street and was approaching the sharp curve from the opposite direction, police said.

The Mercedes-Benz then went out of control and entered the opposite lane, colliding with the Chevrolet, police said.

There were no injuries. O’Connor received a written warning for failure to drive to the right on a curve.

Arrest Warrant

While he was in Danbury Superior Court for a court appearance on October 9, police served an arrest warrant against Mark Passero, 40, of 2 Mt Pleasant Road, charging him with third-degree larceny in connection with his alleged theft of an auto in Newtown on June 12, 2006, police said.

After arresting Passero, Newtown police returned him to the custody of judicial marshals.

Passero is serving a 30-month sentence at Enfield Correctional Institution on a criminal conviction.
