MERIDEN â Connecticut School-Age Child Care Alliance (CSACCA) will hold a statewide school-age child care conference on Saturday, November 4, at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, Meriden. Jim Snack, of The Humor Project, is the featured speaker. The title of his presentation is âThe Magic of Humor.â In this funny upbeat motivational program, he shows how a sense of humor is your best tool in dealing with stress and how humor can help you reframe situations, stimulate creativity, and build relationships. Using magic and audience participation, Mr Snack will show how to move from Grim and Bear It to Grin and Share It! Jim Snack, MA, is a magical presenter and a terrific teacher. He was named outstanding teacher by the International Communication Association.
In addition to Mr Snack, the full day conference will feature 29 workshops in three sessions. There are workshops planned that will be of interest to directors and staff of school programs on topics such as Conflict Resolution, Multicultural Art Experiences, Insurance Issues Facing Child Care Programs, Dealing with Bullies, Getting Acquainted with National School Age Care Alliance Standards of Quality for School-Age Care, Nature and Science Activities, Exploring Musical Styles. A continental breakfast and luncheon are included in the registration fee.
Following the last workshop session, there will be a gala to celebrate CSACCAâs 10th Anniversary. Connecticut School-Age Child Care Alliance, an affiliate of National School-Age Care Alliance, provides leadership, education, and advocacy for excellence in school-age child care in the state of Connecticut.
