ROCKY HILL â Two seminars offered by the Education Department of Planned Parenthood of Connecticut will offer professionals and parents skills in adolescent development.
âWhat Works? A Look at Successful Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programsâ will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 8:45 am to 2:45 pm at the Holiday Inn, North Haven. This seminar will feature findings from two highly acclaimed research projects that will help participants understand what does and doesnât work in adolescent pregnancy prevention. âThe Men They Will Become, a Conference on Raising Boysâ will be held Friday, November 5, 8:45 am to 3 pm at the Hartford Marriott Hotel, Rocky Hill.
Dr Eli Newberger of Harvard Medical School, a pediatrician and specialist in family violence, examines the origins of character in boys and men, and provides a clear look at how the qualities we hope for in boys develop. Workshops will offer ideas for communities, professionals and individuals to use in helping boys grow into strong, caring people. Tuition is $99.
