Sadie A. Salvatore

Sadie A. Salvatore, 85, of Port Chester, N.Y., died October 8, at the United Hospital Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Salvatore, Sr, who died in 1986.

She was the mother of Dominick Salvatore of Newtown.

Born in Harrison, N.Y., on October 22, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Losardo) Zicca. She had been a resident of Port Chester for 60 years.

She had worked as a cashier at Playland in Rye for 42 years before her retirement.

In addition to her son, she is survived by three other sons, Richard Salvatore and Frank Salvatore, both of Port Chester, and Joseph D. Salvatore, Jr, of Greenwich; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Salvatore; a daughter, Theresa Salvatore; six brothers, Angelo, Ralph, Frank, Samuel, Albert and Louis Zicca; and two sisters, Pauline Diaz and Jennie Scarfone.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated October 12 at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Don Bosco Avenue, Port Chester, N.Y. Burial followed in St Mary Cemetery, Greenwich.

The Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, was in charge of arrangements.
