CPR Class  On Saturday

BRIDGEPORT – St Vincent Medical Center is sponsoring a CPR (Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) class for the community on Saturday, October 16, from 9 am to 3 pm in St Vincent’s main level Hawley Conference Center.

The CPR class, which is the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support Course (BLSA), will teach one-man CPR and how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants, and how to clear a foreign object from an obstructed airway. Also, general safety measures for people of all ages, as well as healthy lifestyles awareness, will be included.

For the lay person seeking first-time certification, the class runs 9 am to 3 pm, while those seeking re-certification attend from 11:30 am to 3 pm.

The fee for the class, which includes a manual, is $60 for full certification, and $40 for re-certification. Advanced payment is required to reserve a spot in the class.
