To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse Judit DeStefano for re-election to Newtown's Legislative Council in District 1. I've known Judit for more than a decade. I first met Judit when she was a teacher. It takes a special person to be able to create a positive learning environment for children while also helping them rise to the ever-increasing academic challenges in today's world. It is clear that she values each child's individual potential.

I also know Judit as a good friend. My husband and I recently moved to Newtown because of its superior education system and vibrant, growing community. We trust she understands the nuances involved in local government. In both her capacities as a teacher and as a friend, she has a unique grace and strength of character that transfers well to her current role on the Legislative Council. Newtown is fortunate to have leaders like Judit DeStefano. Please cast your vote for her on November 7.
