La Leche League To Meet Oct 17
La Leche League of Newtown will continue its fall series of meetings on Tuesday, October 17, with the topic âHow Childbirth Choices Affect Breastfeeding.â The group will meet at 10 am in the parlor room on the main floor of the Congregational Church House offices at 41-A Street behind the General Store.
Parking is available behind the building or in the town hall parking lot, not in the Newtown Savings Bank parking lot.
The goal of the program is to help each mother gain an understanding of how the childbirth experience can affect breastfeeding and the development of a close, positive relationship with the baby. Although this focus is most appropriate for pregnant women and those considering pregnancy, all breastfeeding questions will be discussed. The program also will touch on sibling reactions to a new baby.
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All women are welcome to attend the monthly group meetings or to call a leader for breastfeeding help. For more information call 426-6242.
