Fall Foliage Train Rides

DANBURY — Enjoy nature’s splendor from aboard a modern train on one of Danbury Railway Museum’s Fall Foliage Excursions on Saturday, October 21. Trains will leave from the Danbury Railway Museum, 120 White Street, and travel over the historic Maybrook freight line.

Trip 1, to Hopewell Junction, will depart Danbury at 9:30 am and return at 1:45 pm. Trip 2, to Ice Pond, will depart Danbury at 2:15 pm and return at 4:30 pm. A combination ticket for both trips is also available.

Snacks will be available on board and, for the photographers, photo run-bys will be scheduled.

Fares for Trip 1 are $29.50 for adults, $16 for children; for Trip 2, $15 for adults and $8 for children. A combination ticket, good for both trips, is $39.50 for adults, $20 for children. Group discounts are available.

Excursion tickets also include admission to the museum itself. For a nominal extra donation, visitors can also ride the Rail Yard Local, a short trip on a vintage train that stops to ride the only operating turntable in Connecticut. Caboose and RS-1 locomotive cab rides are also available.

Danbury Railway Museum is a non-profit organization, staffed solely by volunteers, and is dedicated to the preservation of, and education about, railroad history. The museum is located in the restored Danbury Station and rail yard at 120 White Street. For further information, visit the museum’s Web site at www.danbury.org/drm, or call the museum at 778-8337.
