Bradley Swendsen

Bradley Swendsen, 77, of Monroe, husband of the late Ethel (Closson) Swendsen, died October 9 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur B. and Carol Swendsen of Newtown.

Brad was born in Monroe on April 29, 1923, to Mildred and Samuel Swendsen, and had been a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army. He was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge 19. Mr Swendsen retired as a custodian at Masuk High School.

Survivors also include a daughter, Ingrid S. Sanford of Switzerland; two sisters, Marge Derle of Monroe, and Berneice Joyce of Florida; two brothers, John Swendsen of New York, and Samuel Swendsen of Bethlehem; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, October 13, at 11 am, in the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street (Route 25), Monroe. Interment will be in Monroe Center Cemetery.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, October 12, from 4 to 8 pm.
