Wolfpack 3, Tigers 1: Henry Sims, Greg Larnerd and David Manville each scored a goal for the Wolfpack for the win. Mubaraq VonSchleusingen and Jonathan Zigman played well on defense. For the Tigers, Kelly McPhee scored the goal Kristen Gucciardo played strong defense and Jessica Lively did a great job in goal.

TIGERSHARKS 5, THUNDERBIRDS 0: Anthony Florez scored four goals as the âSharks blanked the T-birds. Ben Wicki added a goal. Billy Sims and Blake Barreto also played well for the âSharks. For the T-birds, Patrick Keough, Dan Burns and Chris Salvatore all had good games.
SCORPIONS 3, FLASH 0: Justin Carotti scored three goals to lead the Scorpions to the win over the Flash. Carotti scored on assists from Ruan Hudock and Alistair Hayden. Kyle Shevlinâs strong goaltending denied a Flash comeback in the second half. For the Flash, Andrew Rothenberg and Matthew Brede played well on offense while Andrew Pezzulo and Tyler Adams kept the score close with some solid defense.
DOGNABBERS 4, PYTHONS 0: Matt Boland, Connor McManus, Michael Kearns and Bobby Black scored goals to lead the Nabbers to the win. For the Pythons, Brendan Buzaid, Dan Cooper, and Dana VanBuskirk had good games.
DOGNABBERS 3, SCORPIONS 1: Mickey Fay, Ethan Canfield and Matt Boland all scored to lift the Nabbers to a win. Ryan Boucher and Jamie Post played well. For the Scorpions, Alistair Hayden scored and had strong support from Ryan Morrissey, Matt Norris and Will Paskey.
Girlsâ E Division
TIMBERWOLVES 1, DRAGONS 0: Chelsea Liker of the T-wolves scored the lone goal in a shutout. Jennifer Iassogna provided the assist. Sarah Greenfield and Mallory Webb had good games. For the Dragons, Alyssa Schreckenghaust, Shaina Musco and Heather Young all had good games.
TIGERS 0, TIMBERWOLVES 0: Very strong midfield and defensive play on both sides thwarted some scoring chances in the 0-0 tie. Jennifer Blauvelt, Carolyn Gingras and Kelly McPhee all led the Tigers as Jessica Neufeld, Jacqueline Schultz and Jennifer Iassogna led the T-wolves.

Girlsâ F Division
SHINING STARS 3, STRIKERS 3: In a hard fought CD Division match-up the Strikers surged to a 3-1 halftime lead powered by a front line of Melissa Russell (two goals), Courtney Brunton (one score), and Alicia Kulp to answer Elizabeth (Biz) Bowenâs single score for the Stars. The tables turned strongly in the second half, however, as an unbowed Star defense sparked by Alicia Rogers and strong midfield support from Kristen DeCesare keyed two Star goals from the power foot of Catlin Williams. Hence this well played, well matched, and cleanly refereed (by Tom Fullman and Allison Frobey) game ended in deadlock.
EAGLES 4, MEAN MACHINE 3: Emily DeMarco and Nora Lynn Shimko led the Eagles on offense while Kristen Tanner and Jenna Lex were strong on defense. Kristine Zadrovitz and Marnie Thompson led the Mean Machine offense as Margaret Cozens and Jacey Johns had good defensive games.
DOLPHINS 4, UNICORNS 0: Tanya Domingos scored three goals to lift the Dolphins to the win over the Unicorns. Melissa Schreiber also scored as Paige Woodhouse and Brooke Untiedt had solid games for the âFins. For the Unicorns, Marianne Diffin, Jessica Tonucci, Gretchen Hoffman and Taylor Smith played well.
BOMBERS 3, HURRICANES 1: Kasey Schulz scored two goals and Lindsay Laub added a third as the Bombers defeated the Hurricanes. Hillary Buzaid and Katie Pessin played well on defense. For the âCanes, Laura Rice scored the goal while Meagan Kelly, Meredith LaPerch and Kaley Kruger all played well.
HURRICANES 5, YANKEES 1: Gina Bonacci scored two goals while Genna Scheuerell, Sammy Ciaccia and Laura Konkos scored one goal apiece to lead the âCanes to the win. For the Yankees, Jennifer OâConnell scored the only goal as Maggie Kimball, Lucy Remitz and Libby Naret led the defense.
TORNADOES 4, TIMBERWOLVES 0: Chelsea Fay scored two goals and assisted on two others while Kate Bowen and Sarah Feinstein scored one each to lead the Tornadoes to the win. Christiane Buethe sparked the shutout defense. For the T-wolves, Emily Weber and Emily Brestovansky led the offense while Kayleigh Boyle and Molly Nostrand led the defense.
Boysâ F Division
SCORPIONS 2, WILDCATS 1: Chris Hogan and Tyler Edwards scored for the Scorpions on assists from Ethan Carotti and Colin Tredger to lead the victory. Shane Wurtz also played well. For the âCats, Michael Cagganello scored the lone goal while Michael Giglio and Peter Walsh also had good games.
POKEMON 3, RAPTORS 1: Mitchell Blomberg scored two goals to lead the Pokemon to their first win. Mathew Slattery scored one goal and assisted on another. Christopher Bock was strong on offense with one goal. Brandon Bennett and Christopher Murphy shared time in the net. For the Raptors, Chris McCann scored the lone goal while Jeff Dinicala played a strong offense and defensive game. Evan Konnory was very good in goal.
HURRICANES 3, TORNADOES 2: Ricky Gallucci scored two goals and Andrew Meisel added a third as the âCanes upended the Tornadoes. Bill Gardner and Kyle Packer also played well. For the Tornadoes, Josh Wolf scored both goals while Harrison Gillis played well on defense.
ROCKETS 0, SALTY PUPS 0: Patrick Fay, Jacob Ansari, Tyler Webb and Ben Miles all played well for the Rockets while Ryan Goodridge, Adam Wenick, Ben Morrison and Vince LaFrancesca played well for the Pups.
Boysâ U10 Travel
VIPERS 2, BROOKFIELD 0: Max Hoagland and Kevin Troy scored the goals that lifted the Vipers past Brookfield. Chris Meier and Jason Smith fortified the first-half defense in front of goalie Drew Taylor while Ryan Wilson, Kevin Davies and Greg Rodden anchored the defense in front of goalie Danny Smith in the second half. The Vipers remained undefeated in the Northwest division.
Boysâ U11 Travel
TRUMBULL 3, RAGE 1 (State Cup): Justin Durelli was outstanding on defense for the Rage, but Trumbull came out the winner. Ryan McGrath, Chris Nuelle, Tyler Bigham and Brian Conroy also had good games on defense. Nick Sando, Michael Kennedy, and Jack Quinn led the midfield action.
RAGE 5, SOUTHBURY 2: Mark Cinquegrana and Aron Fay scored two goals apiece and Joe Rahtelli added one as the Rage exploded for five second-half goals and the win. Mike Murphy, Michael Klein and Brian Shimko had strong games while midfielder Bill McCann and goalie Steve Marks performed well.
RAGE 6, BETHEL 1: Jack Quinn scored a pair of goals while Chris Nuelle, Ryan McGrath, Joe Rahtelli and Michael Klein added one apiece as the Rage routed Bethel. Michael Kennedyâs great passing set up most of those goals. Aron Fay controlled the midfield as Tyler Bigham and Justin Durelli played well on defense.
RAGE 1, WATERTOWN 0: Chris Nuelle scored the lone goal of the game to lift the Rage to the win. Ryan McGrath and Michael Kennedy also played well on offense. Nick Sando was strong in the midfield while Tyler Bigham and Justin Durelli anchored an unrelenting defense. Goalie Stephen Marks made several solid saves to preserve the shutout.
Boysâ U12 Travel
YORKTOWN 3, KNIGHTS 2: Newtown had its hands full with a big, strong New York team. Yorktown staked an early three-goal lead but the defensive efforts of Jeff Lipnick, Scott Kohn, Alex Naldini, Noah Kugielski and goalie Louis Ritzinger helped keep the score close. Dan Kearns and Jonathan Hartlett each scored to get close but the comeback ran out of time and a one goal defeat was posted.
KNIGHTS 3, WILTON 3: The Knights faced host Wilton in the opening round of their Columbus Day tourney and they came fired-up. Alex Meisel stunned everyone with a goal in the games first minutes for quick lead. Max Barrett and David McGlaughin kept the ball forward with strong ball control and Chris Hoagland scored twice to earn an early tie.
Girlsâ U14 Premier
NIGHTMARE 2, BURLINGTON 0: Caitlyn Weber and Sarah Wallace scored one goal apiece to lift the Nightmare to the win. Carrie Lipnick and Becky Corrigan played very well in the midfield. Erin OâDell and Kelley Haines controlled the defensive third while Kim Allen recorded her third consecutive league win in goal.

Columbus Day Classic
HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania â The Strikers claimed the first-place title at the Pepsi-Snickers Columbus Day Classic Tournament in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania this past weekend thanks to wins over the Casa (Harrisburg) Bandits and the Pasadena (Maryland) Lightning and a forfeit win over the Hartford (Maryland) Renegades.
In a 2-1 win over Casa, Marcus Tracey and Mike Vanasse both scored on assists from Sean Rawson to lead the come-from-behind win. Mike Bonsignore led the Striker defense by containing the Casa attack through the aid of Jeff Brunaska on the right side and Devon Manfredonia on the left. Peter Dittmar and Chris Wolcott played well.
In an 8-0 win over Pasadena, Matthew McFadden scored two goals while Brunaska, Tracey, Mathew Miller, Nathan Walzer, Manfredonia and Ryan Taplin all scored. Brian Smith and Ryan Keogler both played well in the midfield as David Anderson anchored the defense. Walzer patrolled the net in the first half and David Kugielsky held onto the shutout in goal for the second half.
The Strikers were awarded the first-place finish after the Hartford Renegades of Kingville, Maryland forfeited a Sunday match.
