Supports Bolinsky
To The Editor:
I’m so glad that Mitch Bolinsky is running for re-election as Newtown’s State Representative. I’ve known Mitch for years now. He’s the true definition of a public servant. He’s not in it for the “glory,” nor to force an ideology on us. He goes to Hartford focused on “We the People” of Newtown.
Mitch’s only agenda is trying to keep Connecticut, and thus Newtown, affordable and livable. It’s an uphill battle, constantly fighting against things like new taxes (such as tolls), overburdening regulations, unfunded mandates, and the loss of town zoning autonomy, but Mitch has demonstrated that he’s up for the challenge.
We need Mitch to remain in Hartford. Over his twelve years there he has built many strong, trusting relationships on both sides of the aisle. Others seek to collaborate with Mitch to build balanced, “do only good” legislation that won’t end up hurting our schools, our businesses or our livelihoods. Perhaps this is a result of his having 30 years of marketing, new product research, and regulatory affairs experience in business, before entering politics.
Mitch’s responsiveness to Newtown families and individuals is second-to-none. Mitch is here working with us and for us, often responding to correspondence at odd hours.
He also looks out for those in need, creating the state’s Office of Dyslexia, initiating the legislation that formed CT’s Rare-Disease Council, focusing on special education access, elder abuse, domestic violence prevention, and more.
Connecticut is dangerously close to being a one-party state — we can’t afford to lose any Republicans, especially someone like Mitch. Without diversity of thought, laws can be fast-tracked before healthy debate, adequate public discourse, and the transparency of public process. The will of the people will be compromised.
Please vote for Mitch Bolinsky. He’s the voice we need.
