I am originally from Asheville, North Carolina. My son and his family live there.

The damage is incomprehensible. The human toll is tragic.

I am told by my contacts there that currently it is mostly neighbors helping neighbors, including out of state neighbors.

FEMA, they report, at this stage is almost nonexistent.
