Concerned With Climate Change
To The Editor:
There are a lot of important issues right now: women’s rights (which we are losing, thanks to Trump), inflation (which is going down, but is still painful every time we go to the market), immigration (which a serious bipartisan bill could have addressed, had it not been for Trump, who killed the bill so that he could run on the issue), and others.
But for me, the most important issue that rises above all in importance is the environment and climate change.
Our planet is warming at a rate that far exceeds what environmental scientists feared even a few years ago. The ice caps are melting, the ocean is heating up, and the results are easy to see. In the east: more severe hurricanes, more tornadoes, more flooding, more death. In the west: raging wildfires, more severe drought, huge lakes drying up, less fresh water for crops and for people.
We need a representative in Hartford who understands that the state of the environment is an existential threat to humanity. And that it’s getting worse.
Michelle Embree Ku, who is running for State Representative of the 106th district, understands this threat and will do everything possible to protect humanity, including encouraging smart development, better waste management, the use of green resources, and advocating for the use of renewable energy.
Michelle is running against Mitch Bolinsky, who told me personally that he didn’t believe in climate change and didn’t believe that humanity had anything to do with it.
I know who I’m voting for on November 5.
The candidate who will fight for the issue that is important to the future of humanity. The candidate who gives me hope for the future. Michelle has my vote. I hope she’ll have yours.
