To the Editor:

Many months ago when Rance Thompson first mentioned his potential candidacy for Newtown's Legislative Council I did everything possible to encourage him to do it. Rance is exactly what the council needs.

Outside of parenting and managing a household, running a small business is perhaps the hardest job on earth. Rance is a committed father and excellent role model for his two beautiful children, and he is a successful chief executive for a property management and landscaping company that he founded, funded, and nurtured to the thriving business it is today. Rance is a thinker, a strategist, and honest negotiator. He understands tax dollars are investments made by taxpayers for an improved Newtown community - and that those same constituents deserve a real and legitimate return on their hard-earned dollars.

I am thrilled that Rance Thompson has chosen to offer his talents to Newtown's Legislative Council, and respectfully encourage voters to carefully consider his candidacy. He is exactly what we need.
