Patricia Ford Money, 52, of Fairfield died peacefully October 8, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bridgeport, November 26, 1961.

Her husband, Michael F. Money, and children, Michael, William “Billy,” and Rose, of Fairfield survive Ms Money. Also surviving are her mother, Barbara Ford of Fairfield; her siblings and their spouses, Terrence and Christine Ford of Newtown, Jane and C.R. Shaw of Newtown, Ann and Timothy Roach of Fairfield, Mary Margaret and Daniel Schiede of Massapequa, N.Y., Daniel and Leslie Ford of Fairfield, and P. Sarsfield Ford of Fairfield; her father-in-law, Ralph J. Money, Jr, of Black Rock; and her husband’s siblings and spouses, Mary Money and Matt Leonard, Ralph P. Money and Laura Babala, James and Ivana Money, Catherine E. Money, Ann Money Atkins, and Teresa and Dennis McLaughlin. Several aunts, uncles, her beloved nieces and nephews, and many loving cousins survive Ms Money. Her father, the Honorable G. Sarsfield Ford, predeceased her.

She was a proud graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy and St Bonaventure University. After receiving her master's degree in education from the University of Bridgeport, she taught at Dunbar School in Bridgeport. She relocated to Houston, Texas, with her family, where she made many lifelong friends. Upon returning to Connecticut, she became very active as a parent volunteer in the Fairfield Public Schools, giving her time as a member of the Stratfield School PTA and the president of the Roger Ludlow Middle School PTA.

Ms Money combined her experience of teaching with her love for nature and science as a volunteer with the Fairfield Public Schools Mill River-Lab program. Rain or shine, she was at her happiest on the banks of the river capturing the hearts and minds of the young students. In addition, she proudly served as a monarch butterfly conservation specialist. Always willing to help those in need, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Our Lady of Assumption Church's Septemberfest Fair and a member of its Resurrection Choir. Ms Money was a member of the Gaelic American Club and the S.S. Norden Club. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends, sharing a good Irish song and a heartfelt laugh. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.

Visitors may call Sunday, October 12, from 3 to 8 pm, at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian burial will take place directly at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, at 10 am, Monday, October 13. Interment will follow in St Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield.
