To all concerned. Concerned about our representation in Hartford that is. In random conversations with fellow Newtown residents about the pending retirement of our longtime state representative, Julia Wasserman, it is a concern to most who will pick up the ball in Harford on our behalf. We all know Representative Wasserman will be leaving tremendous shoes to fill at the capitol. I really donât care at this point to turn the reins over to a novice to start building a new case for Newtown in Hartford. Julia Wasserman made great strides for us over many years on many issues and I want someone to immediately pick up the torch and keep Newtown on the same even keel it is on now.
In the current atmosphere with financial and political issues in a constant tempest, I fully endorse Will Rodgers for the job. Will brings many years of experience to the table. Experience in various fields. Years serving our community on the Legislative Council and recently as a decorated Marine colonel serving in Iraq, to only mention two. He will make sure Newtown gets a fair shake at the capitol.
Willâs opponent for the state representative post, in my opinion, simply does not have the background at this point to fill those huge shoes I mentioned. So, please join me in voting for Will Rodgers to represent Newtown in Hartford. This is not the time for one the job training. Times are tough and when the going is tough, we send in the Marines!!
Respectfully submitted,
