Alice J. Clayton Loomis

Newtown Resident

Of Many Years

Alice J. Clayton Loomis, 79, of Newtown, died October 5 at Ashlar of Newtown. Mrs Loomis was the wife of Howard Loomis, Sr. She was born in Ansonia on November 10, 1928, a daughter of Thomas and Martha Clayton.

Mrs Loomis was a graduate of Ansonia High School and had been a resident of Newtown since 1965. She enjoyed knitting and playing bingo.

In addition to her husband, Mrs Loomis is survived by two sons, Charles Loomis of Newtown and Howard Loomis of Southbury; three daughters, Andrea Capazello of Newtown, and Arlene Casivant and Allison Remlin, both of Southbury; a sister, Shirley Hines; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held October 8 in the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown. Interment was in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden, October 9.
