A Great Time For A Great Cause
A Great Time For A Great Cause
To the Editor:
While politics, elections, and economic shortfalls have recently consumed much of our precious time, please allow yourself a minute to reflect on the kindness and generosity of others.
This weekend Steve and Diana Paproski hosted a benefit for Relay For Life at their farm. With the help of the Relayâs Survivorship Committee, they provided an amazing bonfire, a haunted hayride, refreshments, and even a sneak peak at this yearâs corn maze! Thank you so much Steve and Diana. It was a great time! As you know, the American Cancer Societyâs Relay For Life celebrates survivorship, remembers loved ones lost, and fights back against the disease 24 hours a day.
I also would like to point out the amazing togetherness of the Newtown community as it once again pulled together in an effort to support a special individual, Ken Ayles, along with his family. I had the privilege of meeting Ken at his neighborhood fundraising tag sale, and I am humbled by his strength and courage. I am equally impressed by the devotion and generosity of all who participated in and donated to this fundraiser. I hope you have fun in Disney, Ken!
These two events, along with the committees and volunteers I work with throughout the year, are truly motivating and have already put the gears in motion as we plan the 2009 Relay For Life of Newtown event in June! Stay tuned for more details.
