How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for seven years. Prior to Newtown, I lived in Monroe, where I grew up.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: There is so much building going on, with more and more houses being built. I wish it would stop. There is less and less open land and woods.
Family: My husband, Daniel, and I will be married nine years next week. We have one child, MaryBeth, who is 4.
Pets: We have two cats, Snickers and Doodles.
Hobbies: I like cooking and entertaining. I also volunteer for Swim Across the Sound and in my daughterâs pre-school.
Favorite Books and Authors: Iâm really into J.K. Rowlingâs Harry Potter books. I also like mysteries. Iâve read all the legal mysteries. I also buy a lot of cookbooks.
Favorite TV Show: Iâve enjoyed The Practice and ER. Weâll see what the new season brings.
Organizations: I am a former member of the Business and Professional Womenâs Club. We are also members of the Connecticut Zoological Society and St Steven Church in Trumbull.
Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: I remember years ago when I lived in Monroe coming to Newtown and sitting on the hill on the golf course and watching the fireworks on the Fourth of July.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Bermuda. Itâs close, and itâs a lot like Hawaii. Itâs also quiet, and isnât overcrowded. You go to the beach, and there might be somebody else way down the beach.
Personal Philosophy: I hold to all the things I needed to know in kindergarten. Take a nap every afternoon. Hold hands when crossing the street. Stick together. If you make a mess, clean it up. Have cookies and milk every afternoon at three oâclock. Put things away. Theyâre the simple things.
