Arthur "Art" Radun, 95, of Newtown, husband of 72 years to Irene (Soltes) Radun, died October 6 at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Little Falls, N.Y., April 13, 1922, a son of Wilhelmina (Semrow) and Sigmund Radun.

Mr Radun attended New York State schools and was a US Army World War II veteran.

An auto mechanic and repairman with the former Danbury Ford Motor Company, Mr Radun established Art's Auto Body, Federal Road, Danbury, which he owned and operated for many years and maintained a slogan, "If she is shabby and falling apart, call Art... Art's Auto Body and Repair - Danbury."

A member of the musical group Rhythm Rangers, Mr Radun was an accomplished accordion player.

Known to be a "Mr Fix-It," there was very little Mr Radun would not be able to fix. From the building of their home to reupholstering a sofa or chair and everything in between, he was able to accomplish it.

Being very artistic, he enjoyed painting with watercolors and oils and exhibiting his accomplished culinary skills.

He was a member of St Joseph Parish of Danbury and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his wife Irene, a sister, Eleanor Koester of South Bend, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Elsie Palmieri of Danbury; several nieces and nephews; and his cat survive him.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Otto Radun, predeceased Mr Radun.

Friends will be received at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, on Wednesday, October 11, from 8:30 to 9:15 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated October 11, at 10 am, in St Joseph Church, 8 Robinson Avenue, Danbury. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery.
