To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse Mark Boland in his candidacy for the Board of Finance.

My husband and I are both lifelong residents of Newtown/Sandy Hook, with two children at Middle Gate School. Our fond memories of Newtown as children is what has kept us here to raise our kids in a community that means so much to us.

I have known Mark, and conducted business with him in the financial services community, for the past ten years. Mark understands the importance of building partnerships and creating innovative solutions that work for both parties. He has always treated his employees with the utmost respect and in an inclusive fashion. Their loyalty to him, over many years, is the direct result of his managerial style and his ability to advocate for others. His employees are professional and savvy, which points to Mark’s ability to identify talent and effectively communicate. Mark is thoughtful, reliable, a good listener, and well regarded by all whom meet him.

I believe the same skills he deploys in business will allow him to operate on the Board of Finance with integrity and concern for all constituents, making decisions without a personal agenda, and for what is in the best interest of the Newtown community. I hope you will join me in supporting Mark on his candidacy.
