Letter Of Endorsement
To the Editor:
John Godin should be returned to the Board of Finance and I write to urge the voters of Newtown to do just that. I base this opinion on not only my following of his actions on that board but also on my knowledge of him in general.
I served on the C.H. Booth Library Board of Trustees with John. In addition, I have known him for many years in professional, political, and social contexts. John is adept at bringing circular discussions to a close with a practical suggestion or action plan. From his many years working for General Electric, John brings a business perspective, analytical skills, and a deliberateness to each issue he addresses, whether on the Board of Finance, the library board, Republican Town Committee, or just in everyday life. He’s a straight shooter, scrupulously fair, and a respecter of process. He’s a hard worker and even has a good sense of humor. I’ve seen him volunteer time and time again for various tasks and never complain when the help promised for the task fails to materialize; instead, he simply picks up the slack and gets the job done. I consider myself fortunate to count him as a friend.
Newtown has been and is well served by John. Please return him to the Board of Finance in November to keep that benefit for the town in place.
