Youth Football & Cheerleading Hosts Newtown Day

Newtown Youth Football & Cheerleading will hold its third annual Newtown Day at Taylor Field this

Sunday, October 11. The Newtown 79ers, as well as the fourth- through eighth-grade teams will have games between 8 am and 4 pm.

The football and cheerleading program will hold a Winter Wear Drive to benefit local communities.

Volunteers will collect gently-used coats, hats, gloves, scarves, snow pants and boots. Donations will be made to Newtown Social Services, Faith Food Pantry and Daughters of Charity in Bridgeport to help ward off the cold this winter.

In addition to games there will be food, raffle prizes and a tennis ball toss at halftime of each game.
