When a dream takes hold of you, what can you do? You can run with it, let it run your life, or let it go and think for the rest of your life about what might have been.

                                                                                          —Patch Adams

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

                                                                                            —Mark Twain

There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, “Yes, I’ve got dreams, of course I’ve got dreams.” Then they put the box away and bring it out once in awhile to look in it, and yep, they’re still there. These are great dreams, but they never even get out of the box. It takes an uncommon amount of guts to put your dreams on the line, to hold them up and say, “How good or how bad am I?” That’s where courage comes in.

                                                                                      —Erma Bombeck

Take your time, think a lot, / Think of everything you’ve got. / For you will still be here tomorrow / But your dreams may not.

                                                                                            —Cat Stevens

So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.

                                                                                —Christopher Reeve

Nobody succeeds beyond his or her wildest expectations unless he or she begins with some wild expectations.

—Ralph Charell

My theory has always been, that if we are to dream, the flatteries of hope are as cheap, and pleasanter, than the gloom of despair.

                                                                                  —Thomas Jefferson

I’ve dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas: they’ve gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the color of my mind.

                                                                                          —Emily Bronte

He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.

                                                                                      —Albert Einstein

The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle.

                                                                                                —Anais Nin

A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. A goal is what specifically you intend to make happen. Dreams and goals should be just out of your present reach but not out of sight. Dreams and goals are coming attractions in your life.

                                                                                  —Joseph Campbell

All of us failed to match our dreams of perfection. So I rate us on the basis of our splendid failure to do the impossible.

                                                                                 —William Faulkner
