Marjorie Milot Check

Dedicated To Family

Marjorie Milot Check, 81, of Newtown died September 27, surrounded by her family. Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on January 26, 1928, a daughter of Lillian (Bell) and Charles Milot, she was married to Charles Edward Check, who predeceased her, for 47 years.

Mrs Check enjoyed a lifelong career in administration, working for several local businesses before retiring from Pitney Bowes. She was dedicated to her family and daughters, enjoyed knitting, baking, and crafts, and loved entertaining. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, as evidenced by her extensive Santa Claus collection.

She leaves her three daughters and their husbands, Mary and David Cason of McAlpin, Fla., Maureen and Raymond Rivera of New Canaan, and Elizabeth Check and Patrick Davis of Waltham, Mass. Also surviving are three grandsons; five siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs Check will be held at St Rose of Lima, Newtown, Saturday, October 17, at 11 am. The Honan Funeral Home, Newtown, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 344, 77 Main Street, Newtown.
