Loving Wife And Mother

Maria Laraia Wicki, 51, of Newtown, died October 5, after a long illness. She was the loving wife of Michael Wicki. Ms Wicki was born in Hartford, February 6, 1958, daughter of Irmentraud and John Baptist Laraia of Old Saybrook.

She lived in Newtown for the last 12 years and was employed at Danbury Hospital Emergency Room as a medical secretary, and as substitute teacher in the Newtown School District. She was a volunteer EMT for the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two loving sons, Benjamin and Bryan Wicki of Newtown; a brother, Michael Laraia of Old Saybrook; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 11, at 2 pm, at the Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, Newtown.

Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
