Lunch Talk On Senior Benefits, BP Screening Slated
A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community titled âHow to Find Services, Programs and Benefits for Seniorsâ will be held Tuesday, October 20, in the Lodge Room at Masonicare at Newtown.
Richard Memmott, director of Masonic Community Services, will present the program. A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and the program will begin at 12:15 pm.
Seniors and caregivers often have difficulty accessing the information they need that can link them to any number of health and social services available in the community.
Mr Memmott will offer advice that can help seniors navigate todayâs ever-changing maze of programs and services, including health care services, various housing options, insurance programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicare Part D, caregiver assistance programs, state and federal programs, support groups, and more.
Masonicare at Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information. There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited.
Anyone interested in attending should call the Masonicare HelpLine at 888-679-9997 to make a reservation.
The same day, Masonicare at Newtown Nursing Department will also sponsor a free blood pressure screening from 10 am to noon in the Lockwood Lodge Wellness Center at Masonicare at Newtown.
The screening will be conducted by a licensed nurse. Remember, you can have high blood pressure and still feel fine. For further information, contact Patti Russell, RN, director of nursing services, at 426-5847.
