Free Program On State Business Taxes

DANBURY — The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) will offer “Understanding Connecticut Taxes Clearly,” a free program designed to teach new business owners the basics about Connecticut sales and use tax and other state taxes.

A DRS tax specialist will conduct the workshop in Danbury on October 19 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Attendees receive extensive information about completing the tax returns required for their own businesses and Connecticut tax compliance in general.

Interested new business owners must register in advance by calling DRS at 860/297-5962 or 800/382-9463 (from anywhere in Connecticut) between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday.  They may also register at any hour on the DRS Web site, www.drs.state.ct.us, by clicking on education. Enrollment is limited so early registration is encouraged.
