Newtown High School’s girls’ volleyball team bounced back from a 3-0 loss to Weston on September 29 to defeat Pomperaug of Southbury in five games on October 1, then beat Bunnell of Stratford in three on October 4 and Blanked Bethel 3-0 on October 6.

Against Pomperaug, the Nighthawks prevailed 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12).

Delia Clouden had six aces, and Chloe O’Connell logged five among Newtown’s 19 aces. Clouden also tallied 13 kills, Keyera Smith had 11 kills, and Zosia Teraskiewicz registered nine kills. Smith compiled ten digs. Shannon Muckell had 18 assists.
