Mr Daniel F. Reardon, Sr, 86, of Flannigan Road, Canajoharie, N.Y., passed away Monday, October 7, 2019, at Albany Medical Center.

Born on February 14, 1933, in Danbury, he was the son of Timothy Reardon and Lillian YoungQuist Reardon. He was a graduate of Newtown High School.

Mr Reardon was a maintenance supervisor for Danbury Hospital until his retirement. He then moved to Ames, N.Y., and at that point, he was able to do the things he enjoyed, which included helping his son, drinking coffee, and working in his workshop at his house.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving for four years.

Daniel was a member of the Marshville Evangelical Church.

He was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather. All who knew him will remember him as a loving person. He enjoyed telling jokes and stories and riding bicycles.

On April 26, 1958, at St Rose Church in Newtown, Conn., Daniel was married to Maureen Watson.

His siblings predeceased him.

Mr Reardon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maureen; sons, Daniel F. Reardon, Jr, and Cynthia and Robert T. Reardon; grandchildren, Daniel Reardon III and Anna, Krista, and Hiram Gonzalez, and Timothy and Suzanne Reardon; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn Reardon and Hiram Gonzalez II.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 1 pm, at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home Inc, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, New York. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, from noon to 1 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Ames Cemetery.
