To the Editor:

I encourage you to vote for Michelle McCabe for State Senator. She is highly qualified and extremely knowledgeable as an advocate for the well-being of the residents of Connecticut’s 28th District. Michelle’s policy, program development, and nonprofit experience bring a unique skill set to the senate. My interactions with Michelle have always been positive. She speaks intelligently and warmly and is notably a hard worker.

With Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, it is my opinion that there is a sense of urgency to elect state senators who can be strong advocates for writing and supporting legislation at the state level to protect us (as much as possible) from losing voting rights, civil rights, health care rights, reproductive rights, gay rights, etc. that could be rolled back by court rulings made by this significantly further right-leaning Supreme Court. Justice Kennedy is no longer there to provide balance.

Please vote for Michelle McCabe to bring fresh, creative ideas and solutions to Connecticut’s 28th District. We need to break the tie in the state senate, bringing Democrats to the majority to provide a barrier to protect Connecticut from a destructive Trump agenda. I encourage you also to vote for the entire slate of Democratic candidates. Republicans have demonstrated in the past months that they have complicitly become Trumpified. We need to bring morality, honesty, civility, compassion, and common sense back to our nation and do all that we can to save Connecticut’s reputation as an honorable place to live, in which all people are welcome.
