Faith and hope will visit the grounds of Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue’s main station on Sunday, October 13, when one of a statewide series of events takes place.

The Christian interdenominational “40 Days of Worship” is part of a larger movement known as Impact Connecticut. The 40 Days initiative is an offering of worship over 40 consecutive days (September 4 to October 14) at more than 40 locations across the state. More than 100 churches and ministries of various denominations and ethnic communities are participating in the 40 Days of Worship, which are tied together by three themes: extravagant worship, prayer, and unity.

Events have at least two participating co-sponsoring ministries, and are open to the public.

The October 13 worship service will take place from 3 to 5 pm. The gathering will include a time of praying for schools, students and local officials. It will be interspersed with live, uplifting music including some specifically for children. Prayer servants will be available for anyone who would like individual prayer.

Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue’s main station is at 18-20 Riverside Road. The event will take place rain or shine.
