On October 4, the Newtown Intermediate and Middle School Cross Country Team traveled to Southbury for its second meet of the season after rain canceled the meet scheduled for September 30 at Jockey Hollow.
Rochambeau Middle school has over 100 runners on their cross country team, representing more than 25 percent of the total school population. The team has been dominating the WCC league and once again earned two victories on its home course.
In the boysâ race Rochambeau scored 17 points to Newtownâs 70 and Memorials 90. The Newtown boysâ team is now 4-2 this season.

In the girlsâ race, Rochambeau scored 15 points to Memorialâs 77 and Newtownâs 89. The Newtown girlsâ team fell to 3-3 this season. In the Intermediate school co-ed race, Julia DiMartino led the team with her fourth- place finish and was followed closely by teammate Adelaide Meier in 6th.
