This November, Newtown voters have the opportunity to go to the polls in support of one of their own: lifelong Newtown resident Tim Holian.

Tim is running for the newly created regional judge of probate position. And, unlike his opponent from Ridgefield, Tim plans to make the position a full-time job. Tim been an attorney in town ever since joining his father’s practice on Main Street nearly 30 years ago. Few know the area better.

The new probate judge will serve the region covering Ridgefield, Newtown, Bethel, and Redding. Previously, each town had its own probate judge. One person is now going to be elected to serve all four towns. And Tim sure seems like the right person for the job. He’s got the experience, expertise, and compassion necessary to handle the area’s probate.

Tim’s law practice has always specialized in probate matters. His success seems to hinge on his tireless sense of fairness, civic duty, and humor. He spent nearly a decade on the Newtown Legislative Council, always providing sound input and quiet leadership. When Tim spoke, people would listen. He is a voice of reason and his fine reputation is well-earned.

I understand his opponent plans to work as a part-time probate judge. Tim has no intention of working part-time.

For Tim to win, however, he’s going to need Newtown’s support. So I urge voters to think Tim when they head to the polls.
