State Home Sales Lowest In 20 Years

BOSTON (AP) — A publisher of real estate data says sales of single-family homes in Connecticut have fallen to their lowest level in more than 20 years.

The Warren Group said Tuesday that single-family home sales fell 14.9 percent in August compared with a year earlier. The Boston-based group says that is the lowest point in more than two decades.

A total of 2,218 single-family homes sold in August, down from 2,607 a year earlier. August was the second consecutive month in which sales fell below 3,000.

June was the only month so far this year when sales passed 3,000.
