Stanley A. Weston

World War II Army Veteran

Stanley A. Weston, 87, of Bethel, formerly of Ridgefield, died September 29 in Danbury. Mr Weston was born March 17, 1923, in Huntington, Vt., one of 14 children, to Mae and Joe Weston.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie; his daughter, Linda Weston of Newtown; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 11 siblings, including his twin, Sidney; and a son-in-law.

A World War II US Army veteran, Mr Weston served in the European Theater in Ireland, England, and France. Mr Weston operated a landscaping business in Ridgefield until he retired to Vermont in 1980.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place Friday, October 8, in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield. Calling hours were scheduled at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street in Ridgefield, for Thursday, October 7, from 5 to 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Voluntary Services, 215 Main Street, White River Junction VT 05009.
