‘SHH…’ It’s A Birthday Surprise

 

All of the Sandy Hook Hair Co. clients are special, said owner Bonnie Fredericks, “but not everyone is 91 years old and still driving herself to her appointments.”

So in honor of customer Peg Brokaw’s birthday on October 6, which just happened to coincide with her hair appointment, Ms Fredericks and staff went all out with “balloon, party hats, cake, ice cream, and presents,” said the salon owner.

“I did not know they were going to do this,” said a very surprised Mrs Brokaw Wednesday morning, seated in a chair festooned with bright yellow ribbons. “I knew I had a hair appointment today, but did not expect this. And I actually almost had to cancel my appointment today.”

“Are you ninety-one or ‘ninety-one-derful’ today?” joked hair stylist Brendon Mullon, as with just one puff of breath, the birthday celebrant blew out the candles on her cake.

“Mrs Brokaw is absolutely amazing. We just love her and it worked out perfectly that her birthday was on the day of her appointment,” said Ms Fredericks. “If she had canceled, we would have brought the party to her!”
