Tigers 4, Rainbow Rockets 2: The Tigers were led on offense by Kyra Masone who scored all four goals in the win. Norah Kolb and Molly Moran also showed speed and determination on defense, spoiling the Rocketsâ many attempts to score. The Rainbow Rockets were strong in offense with their two goals scored by Vivian Meehan and Scarlett Long. Maggy LaBanca provided speed on offense. On defense, Julia Raiani and Katelyn Zaniewski did a great job holding back the Tigers.

Newtown Breeze 5, Bridgeport 0: Newtown came out strong against Bridgeport, with Cassidy Kortze and Samantha Crespo each netting a goal in the first half. Keeping the pressure on offensively were Maggie Beardsley and Sarah Houle. Crespo, Natalie Kelchner, and Riley Mulligan added three more goals for the Breeze in the second half. Lauren King and Ashley Santore led the defensive effort and were instrumental in keeping Bridgeport scoreless.
Easton-Redding 2, Breeze 0: Newtown struggled in their district matchup against a tough Easton-Redding team. Savannah Mather and Marcella Daily kept the pressure on Easton-Redding throughout the game, but could not connect for any goals. Erin Tressler and Ashley Santore spearheaded the defense, while Natalie Kelchner and Riley Mulligan shared time in the goal.

Chaos 1, Rockets 0: The lone goal of the game was scored by Jesse Sailer. Anna Baxter, Marissa Liberante, and Emily Toby played well in the midfield. Allison Indelicato and Amanda Donovan kept the pressure on the offensive end. For the Rockets, Makenzie Casey played great in goal and Jessie Coughlin played tough on defense. Jillian Milano, Emily Turco, and Becky Frank played solid overall games.
Rockets 3, Twisters 0: Hannah Booth led the Rockets with three goals. Solid overall play was turned in by Brianna Alves, Emma Schmid-Tharnish, and Emily Booth. For the Twisters, determined effort by Stephanie Devaney, Arianna Della Corte, and Laura Malin in midfield. Persistent defense demonstrated by Sinead Flanagan and Samantha Olah.

Golden Eagles 3, Team Eight 0: The Golden Eagles had their second straight shutout recording a 3-0 win due to superb goaltending from Robbie Accomando and Devin Johnson. Markus Paltauf led the team with 2 goals after Jonathan Liberante scored early in the second half. Assisting on the goals were Sachin Mansukhani and Jonathan Liberante. BU08-08 had another game of improvements especially in the midfield with strong efforts by Hayden Miller & Stephen Mayer. JP Ford and Jack Stanton kept the ball in front of the opponentâs goal for more than two quarters with the additional help of Jake Holme, Aidan Hall, and Zach Majeski in midfield. Alex Goldstein, Zach Freedman, Dustin Paterson, and Eric Vine all hustled to run balls down on defense and create more opportunities by turning the ball around quickly.
The Madmen 3, Team Seven 1: The Madmen put forth a strong team effort in achieving their first win of the season. Goals were scored by William Tainter-Gilber, Tucker Depuy, and Riley Ward, who also assisted on Tuckerâs goal with a great run up the sideline. Brandon Akbas played strong in the middle and assisted on Rileyâs goal, and Andrew Miller played well on defense and as goalkeeper. For the BU8-07 team, Richard Bomely, Justin Peck and Harrisom Majlinger played well. Richard led the offense with some strong play. Harrison and Justin worked hard defensively and in the midfield to keep the game close.
Vipers 5, Golden Eagles 0: Scoring for the Vipers were Ethan Correia (2), Thomas Armstrong (2), and William Swierbut. The Vipers had a well balanced game and demonstrated solid teamwork and passing. The Golden Eagles started out with some very good chances to score early, but were unable to overcome the stout defense anchored by Ryan Farrell. Arav Dave and Dylan McDermott played well defensively for the Golden Eagles and stopped several scoring opportunities. Brendan Morrissey was involved in some late game scoring chances but the Golden Eagles could not find the back of the net.
Madmen 1, Warriors 0: The Madmen played a solid offensive and defensive game. William Tainter-Gilbert scored their lone goal; his second of the season. Steven Leuci, Johnathon Taylor, Riley Ward, and Tucker Depuy all played hard for the Madmen. Daniel De Bartolomeo was a force on both sides of the ball, including goalie and on defense. Brandon Manka, Nick Preszler, and Ryan Poupon provided leadership for the Warriorâs offense and Daniel Delia, Ryder Palumbo, and Chase Yeaton played strong and hard on defense. Both teams played a good overall game which made for an exciting match-up!
Team Nine 3, The Champions 1: The Champions had their first goal of the season scored by Matthew Weisgerber and assisted by Elijah Baraw. Brendan OâNeill kept up the offensive pressure, while Ethan Paley showed some very good foot work in the midfield. Henry Wishneski and Benjamin Paley played excellent defense to keep the game close. The sportsmanship shown by all players on both teams was something truly to be proud of. For Team 9 Ryan Kraus tied the game with a score, Steven Vournazos found the net after a great assist from Devin Occonnel, and Neil Kalra hit a shot from a distance scoring the final goal of the game. Evan Booth showed determination on defense and Jered Robertson displayed ball handling finesse in the final quarter helping preserve the lead.
Nighthawks 2, Titans 1: Tanner Trede scored the game winning goal with minutes left to lift the Nighthawks over the Titans. Jack Petersen had the other goal for the Nighthawks. Other Nighthawk players who played well were Zachary Reilly, Richard Qi and Jacob Anthony. The Titans came out strong and scored very early in the game. Karl Miller scored the goal from a great pass by Justin De Thomas. Mack Berry and Harrison Silverman played a great around game for the Titans.

Ridgefield 1, Vipers 1: Ridgefield scored early in the first half resulting in a hand injury for goalie CJ Trivers. Substitute goalie Declan Sughrue fought hard with 9 saves to fend off Ridgefieldâs attacks. In addition, Danny Schreiber and Jackson Dooley held a tight defensive line. Adam Farley turned in a solid all-around game despite several knock downs. In the second half superior dribbling skills and a perfect pass by Sean Arnold resulted in the Vipersâ only goal by Henry Vaughan. Bryce Bisset, Travis Huzina, Jack McDermott, and Owen Sullivan were a force to be reckoned with and led multiple offensive attacks with 11 shots on Ridgefieldâs net.

West Hartford 8 Net Rippers 0: In their final State Cup game, the Net Rippers battled West Hartford losing 8-0, with extraordinary goalie Silas Decker blocking 24 direct shots on goal. The defense was lead by Hunter Procaccini, with James Barden and Aiden Ford providing excellent efforts. Shots on goal were attempted by Evan Eggleston, Matt Gerbo, Josh Harper, Brendan OâHara, with multiple assists by Aiden Ford.
Easton 4 Net Rippers 3: Hunter Procaccini and Mark Hall shared goaltending duties, showing remarkable depth of skill new to the position of keeper. Easton powered ahead 3-0 until a revived Net Rippers stormed back with a rocket goal by Nick Harper. The defensive wall of Silas Decker, Ryan Brello, Mark Hall, and James Barden proved impenetrable, but key passes from middies Evan Eggleston and Josh and Nick Harper were left unanswered. A missile penalty kick by Brendan OâHara had Newtown coming back strong, and with seconds remaining, OâHara took the ball at kick off and drilled it into the back of the net, bringing a tight game tighter. Unfortunately, time ran out and Net Rippers fell short, 4-3.

Newtown 5, Bethel 1: Goals by Jacob Harper, Omar Rodriguez, and Rob Schreiber. Strong game by Chris Rovelli and Albert Dean. Zach Laros in goal.

Predators 5, Benchwarmers 2: The Predatorsâ offense was led by Carter Nordman, Henry Lyon, and Thomas Gavel each with a goal and Michael Unschuld with two goals. David Csordas and Jacob Anastasi played solid midfield. Alister Sore and Ryan Szalay scored for the Benchwarmers. Connor Murphy, Christian Lestik, Andrew Janco, and Douglas Raigosa provided the team with opportunities but it was not their night.
