Get Ready To  Manure With

An English Baroness

On Wednesday, October 13, at 7:30 pm, Maureen Hasley-Jones will be the guest speaker for the Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown during its next meeting at Newtown Senior Center.

Ms Hasely-Jones is a baroness connected to a family of English horticulturalists who date back to the 17th Century. Besides running her own well known business called The English Lady Landscape and Home Company, she is also a designer and garden expert who is known as the “garden guru” thanks to a radio program she has done on WRCH Lite 100.5 FM for the last ten years.  She lectures throughout Connecticut on a broad range of environmentally holistic related topics.

Ms Hasely-Jones will speak on “The Garden Earth: Organically Improving Our Lives One Project At A Time.” She will teach how each of us can oxygenate our environment while creating a beautiful garden without the use of harmful pesticides. The baroness believes that a garden’s “living spirit” can help us connect to Mother Nature and her changing seasons. 

As The New York Times said, “One of life’s most unexpected experiences is discussing manure with an English Baroness.”

The program is open to the public. Newtown Senior Center is in the multi-purpose building at 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
